Good Day,
Our first reporting period has come and gone with progress visible in all subject areas. In math we are just finishing with our Fractions unit that focused on Multiplication and Division. Testing will be done in the next few weeks once all work is completed. The following unit will be on Algebra with a test to be done once all work is completed and checked.
As for ELA our next unit will consist of a Novel Study with book reviews upon their completion. This will occur for three novels. They will choose their own selections/Genre for these assignments. As for their spelling, they have moved through many units with a focus on pronounciation and proper use of unit words.
The geography unit for our class has moved on to People and Places which will be centered on Manitoba First Nations Communities and other selected communities within Canada. Text work will be focused on understanding terms related to Canadian Government. This will be done with the use of today's technology and internet use.
Homework is often sent home if the student should not finish within the alotted time during class. Please ask your child when they arrive home if homework has been assigned. Should it not be completed, the student will complete it during their own time.
