Happy Spring!
I am happy to say that Spring is FINALLY here! It is nice to finally see the grass and to feel the warmer temperatures! Hopefully the snow will disappear soon! With the melting snow in mind, please send your child with an extra pair of socks and pants in addition to rubber boots. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
Important Dates This Month...
- April 3rd- First day back from Spring Break
Today at school...April 24th
-Today at school the students continued working on their Daily 5 routine. They also worked with 3-D shapes and tangrams in math. Students also played some phonics games and read in the library.
This week's plan...April 22nd-26th
This week, we will be focusing on the following...
1. Working on the daily 5- students will independently work through each session throughout the morning
2. What's the Matter: Solids, Liquids, Gases- continuing through UDL unit
3. Math units; finishing current units; Geometry
4. Art- Spring Themed Art

This month's unit plans...April 2013
These are the current units we are studying in each subject area...
1. Math Gr. 1 and 2- Geometry
2. Social Studies/Social Studies- "What's the Matter: Solids, Liquids, Gases"
3. English Language Arts- "The Daily 5." This is a literacy program that focuses on students working through 5 different sessions including read to self, read to someone, listen to reading, work on writing, and word work. Once students have been taught strategies as how to work through each session, as well as how to troubleshoot, students will be able to work through these sections independently.
