Career Trek
Our grade 6 students travelled to Manitou on April 27, they joined a group to make approximately 60 students from Long Plains, Sandy Bay, Roseau River, and Dakota Tipi. They participated in the Career Trek pilot project. They took part in 4 classes learning about the Medical Field - Medical Lab Technologist, Pharmacist, Doctor and Occupational Therapist. They really enjoyed these classes. On the first day they went to University of Manitoba and on the second day they went to the University of Winnipeg. They also went rollerskating. Everyone really enjoyed themselves.

PRINCIPAL'S BULLETIN
WELCOME!
Indian Springs School is proud to present to the community of Swan Lake First Nation our new Communication Blog. Here, you will be able to keep up with what each of your child's classrooms are currently doing. The staff has been working hard in uploading current classroom info for the parents. We will post any current information that is important. Teachers will be updating classroom information on a weekly basis.
The Mission of Indian Springs School, along with the community of Swan Lake First Nation, is to promote high quality education for children by providing the necessary skills and tools in order to
reach their highest potential, and face the challenges ahead. In doing so, we are giving them freedom of choice as to the quality of life they wish to maintain.
The staff is committed and dedicated in providing a rich, creative learning environment that is safe, caring and loving.
If at any time you wish to contact the school, please do so at:

Happy Blogging!
As the warmer weather approaches in April, children will be outside more on the roads and at the school playing at the park. Indian Springs School have recieved blinking reflectors to hand out to each child to display on their backpacks, their bikes, or on the loop of their pants. There are 3 different stages with each push of the button on the reflector. Please be sure your child displays them on themselves for their safety and to be visible for approaching vehicles.
Indian Springs School is taking part in a National Bullying Campaign called "Day of Pink". This is a campaign to promote "NO BULLYING". It is unfortunate that this exists in today's world, but together we can all stand side by side and try to put an end to it. We will be hosting a support walk and provide a hotdog lunch on April 11/ 2012. Indian Springs School will all wear PINK
t-shirts to show solidarity and put a stop to bullying at our school.
If you wish to join us on our walk, please call the school.
Thank you
